Carry1st Discount Points (or Points) are a new form of loyalty currency that Carry1st users earn by completing specific actions within the Carry1st ecosystem. Points have a monetary value in your local currency and can be spent in the Carry1st Shop to make full or part-payment for products.
The primary way to earn Points is to make purchases using money from registered payment methods (such as e-wallets, bank transfers, cards, direct carrier billing, and cash-based payment methods) at the Carry1st Shop. Later, Carry1st will provide alternative ways to earn Points – make sure to keep an eye out for future announcements!
Nope! That’s the great thing about Points – you can use them straight away on your next purchase to reduce the overall cost of a product or basket. Points can be combined with your payment method as part-payment, but if you have enough Points to pay for an entire product or basket, you can do that too!
Simple! There are two things you need to know:
- You earn Points by making purchases at the Shop with registered payment methods.
- You unlock the ability to save and spend Points by having a Carry1st account and making sure you're signed in!
So, in order of steps, you can:
- Visit the Carry1st Shop.
- Make a purchase on the Shop by adding items to your cart.
- When you go to checkout, you will see the number of Points this purchase will earn.
- Complete the purchase and then choose “Register/Sign In to Claim Points.”
- Verify your email address.
- Your Points are ready to use for your next purchase!
The maximum number of Points is calculated within your cart before checkout at the Carry1st Shop.
No. To ensure that you earn Points with your purchase, there must be a sufficient amount of basket value to earn at least 1 Point, and that you are paying for enough of your basket with your registered payment method.
At launch, the Points loyalty programme will be available in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Morocco.
No. Points are unique to your account. You must have a Carry1st account to hold Points.
There are a few main differences:
- Gems are a form of payment method, whereas Points are a loyalty points system.
- Gems can only be acquired by purchasing them directly, while Points are earned through making purchases on the Shop and later, other actions within the Carry1st ecosystem.
- When purchasing on the Carry1st Shop, Points can be used in part-payment alongside any other payment method (including Gems).
- When purchasing on the Carry1st Shop using Gems as your sole payment method, you need to have enough Gems in your Gems wallet to complete the entire purchase, unless you are using Points in part payment too.
- Gems can be transferred to friends with Carry1st IDs, but Points cannot be transferred and remain tied to your account.
- Points are in your local currency, while Gems are not.
