HELSINKI, FINLAND & CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA -- OCTOBER 17TH, 2023 - Carry1st, Africa’s leading mobile games publisher, today announces that players will be able to purchase in-game currency, battle passes, and other in-game items for Supercell's most popular games on the Carry1st Shop

Supercell customers can seamlessly purchase content for Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Hay Day, and Brawl Stars on the Carry1st Shop, in their local currencies and using any number of local payment options (mobile money, e-wallets, instant bank transfer, etc). Once purchased, the customer’s Supercell account will be automatically topped up – no vouchers, pins, or hassle required. Fans of Supercell games can also get a 20% discount on top-ups and passes on the Carry1st Shop for the month of October.

Supercell is one of the largest mobile gaming publishers in the world, with around 250 million monthly players across their games. Supercell’s Clash of Clans and Clash Royale collectively have over 4 billion downloads! The introduction of Supercell’s titles onto the Carry1st Shop means that the publisher can reach a growing audience of gamers across the African continent, the fastest-growing mobile gaming market globally.

Cordel Robbin-Coker, CEO of Carry1st, commented: “This partnership is significant as it makes it easy for gamers in Africa to buy items from some of the most popular mobile games in the world in local currency and with payment methods that are available to them. It will also enable Supercell to boost revenue across its titles by tapping into a new, dynamic, and fast-growing gaming market."

The domestic e-payments market in Africa is expected to reach around $40 billion by 2025, which is due to the continent’s mobile-first consumer base. The GSMA further notes that by 2025, the continent will boast a whopping 613 million mobile phone users - superseding the current US market, which has 310 million mobile users. The rapid adoption of smartphones and digital payment innovation has contributed to a surge of mobile gaming in the region – research from Newzoo saw $862.8 million generated in revenue in 2022, up 8.7% year over year, the only region to experience this growth.
